Biswarathan Ramani, MD, PhD (SIG Oral Presenter)

University of California, San Francisco
Dr. Biswarathan Ramani earned his MD, PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan under the mentorship of Dr. Henry Paulson. He completed residency training in anatomic pathology and fellowship training in neuropathology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He then conducted postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Dr. Martin Kampmann at UCSF, where he developed expertise in CRISPR-based functional genomics. In July 2025, Dr. Ramani launched his independent research program at UCSF, which leverages high-throughput CRISPR screening in cell-based and mouse models to uncover genetic modifiers and dissect the molecular mechanisms underlying protein misfolding in neurological diseases.
