About the ANA
Mission: Advancing science, education, and careers to improve neurologic health for all.
Vision: A world without neurological disease.
From advances in stroke and dementia to movement disorders and epilepsy, the American Neurological Association has been at the forefront of research and practice since 1875 as the premier professional society of academic neurologists and neuroscientists devoted to understanding and treating diseases of the nervous system.
For over 140 years, the ANA has included the world’s leading academic neurologists among its members. In 2015, the association expanded its membership to include students and trainees in order to prepare the next generation of clinician-researchers for success.
The ANA’s monthly Annals of Neurology is among the world’s most prestigious medical journals, and the Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology is an online-only, open access journal providing rapid dissemination of high-quality, peer-reviewed research. The acclaimed ANA Annual Meeting draws faculty and trainees from the top academic departments across the U.S. and abroad to share groundbreaking research, network, and benefit from career development programming.
