Dr. Yagiz Altun is an Instructor in the Department of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his MD at Istanbul University, where he developed an early interest in research that led him to pursue a co-mentored PhD in neuroscience between Istanbul University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His doctoral work focused on the role of cellular senescence in neurodegenerative diseases. He has received national awards for his research. Dr. Altun’s current research centers on understanding the developmental origins of neurodegeneration, with a particular emphasis on mechanisms contributing to circuit dysfunction in Huntington’s Disease.
