Neena Cherayil, MD

Dr. Neena Cherayil is an adult neuro-ophthalmologist whose clinical interests include ocular myasthenia gravis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), nystagmus, double vision, eyelid abnormalities, pupillary abnormalities, central vision loss, and optic neuropathy of any cause—especially inflammatory optic neuritis due to MS, MOGAD, NMO, or sarcoidosis.
Her research interests include the long-term care of ocular myasthenia and the course and treatment of MOGAD-related optic neuritis. She is actively involved in clinical trials in these areas. Her academic focus is medical education, with a particular interest in the effective teaching of clinical reasoning and neuroanatomical localization in neurology to residents and medical students. She serves as the Associate Clerkship Director for the Phase 2 medical student neurology rotation and as the Module Leader for the Phase 1b neuroscience course.
