Dr. Michael A. Williams is Professor of Neurology and Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he directs the Adult Hydrocephalus Program. His career has focused on the clinical care and research of adults with hydrocephalus of all causes. He was Co-Chair of the first NIH hydrocephalus workshop in 2005, co-founder of the Hydrocephalus Society, and co-founder and vice-chair of the Adult Hydrocephalus Clinical Research Network. He is on the Steering Committee for the Placebo-Controlled Efficacy in Idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (iNPH) Shunting (PENS) trial. He is currently co-leading the update for the International Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus.
