Melinda Chang, MD

Dr. Melinda Chang grew up in southern California and attended USC for undergraduate studies, double-majoring in Neuroscience and Kinesiology. She then completed medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. Subsequently, she returned to southern California and completed ophthalmology residency, pediatric ophthalmology fellowship, and neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Stein and Doheny Eye Institutes at UCLA. Currently, she practices pediatric neuro-ophthalmology and performs strabismus surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Her research focuses on application of artificial intelligence to pediatric neuro-ophthalmologic conditions including cerebral/cortical visual impairment (CVI), and the impact of the visual system in neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism.
