Maral Sakayan, MD, MS (SIG Oral Presenter)

Dr. Maral Sakayan is a chief resident physician in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine. She earned her MD from Wright State University, School of Medicine in Ohio. She holds a BS in Molecular Biology and a MS in Biology from University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests lie in social determinants of health and traumatic brain injury, aiming to understand how these interactions can lead to different outcomes including disability. Maral will be starting neurocritical care fellowship in July 2026 with the goal of working in academia.
