Hanna Stevens, MD, PhD

Dr. Hanna Stevens is a physician scientist who leads the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Her basic science lab investigates the effects of early environmental changes on brain development related to childhood neuropsychiatric disorders. In particular, her work has demonstrated the impacts of maternal stress, preeclampsia, and inflammation on inhibitory neuron and microglial development. She also runs a clinic for children in the child welfare system. She is a member of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
