George Uhl, MD, PhD, FANA

Dr. George Uhl is a Fellow of the American Neurological Association (ANA) and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology. He serves as Chief of Neurology at the Maryland VA and is a Professor of Neurology and Pharmacology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Uhl trained at Johns Hopkins and has held faculty positions at Johns Hopkins, Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the University of New Mexico/New Mexico VA. He sees patients with neurodegenerative disorders.
His laboratory focuses on developing novel small-molecule therapeutics targeting pathways identified by genome-wide association studies (GWAS) for addiction, pain, obesity, and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Uhl has authored nearly 400 publications and has trained hundreds of fellows, residents, and students.
