Allison Martin, MD

Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Dr. Allison Martin is a pediatric neuro-oncologist and physician scientist focused on identifying novel immune therapies for medulloblastoma. She began her journey in medical school where she studied multiple sclerosis using EAE models. It seemed to Dr. Martin that if the immune system could generate a devastating pathologic response in the brain, then it should be capable of mounting an effective one against brain tumors. Since then, she has focused her work on understanding the role that immune checkpoints, the “brakes” of the immune system, in pediatric neuro-oncology and how they can be exploited for therapy.
