Dr. Laura Balcer is a Professor of Neurology, Population Health, and Ophthalmology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As Vice Chair of Neurology for 12 years, she has had the extraordinary opportunity to work alongside a department chair and longstanding mentor. NYU Neurology has grown tremendously under this leadership while maintaining a strong culture of teamwork.
Dr. Balcer has received the Distinguished Educator Award and the Distinguished Faculty Mentor Award from the School of Medicine. Over the past 25 years, her research has been trainee-focused; she has led numerous collaborative projects aimed at developing visual outcome measures for neurologic disorders.
