Richa Tripathi, MD

Dr. Richa Tripathi currently serves as a Movement Disorder faculty member at Emory University. She completed her medical studies at Smt. NHL Medical College in India before undertaking her residency in Neurology at Wayne State University in Michigan, USA. Subsequently, she pursued fellowship training in Movement Disorder at Emory University.
She spent 3 years as an Assistant Professor in department of neurology at West Virginia University where she helped the neuromodulation team and provided Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) therapy along with Focused ultrasound therapy in Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and Essential tremor. She was then appointed as Assistant Professor at Emory university in 2022 where she has continued her work in neuromodulation. She is the neurology lead for Focused Ultrasound and works in close collaboration with the Neurosurgery team.
Her clinical expertise encompasses a diverse range of Movement disorders, including PD, Essential Tremor, Dystonia, Huntington Disease, among others. Dr. Tripathi’s primary research focus lies in neuromodulation for Movement Disorders, specifically Deep Brain Stimulation and Focused Ultrasound therapy along with neuroimaging in Parkinson’s Disease. She has examined clinical effects of DBS on gait and has also continued her study in Impulse Control Disorder in PD.
