Dr. Steven Galetta has been involved in a large number of clinical studies and has over 400 original publications related to multiple sclerosis, concussion and neuro-ophthalmology. He is co-author of the textbook, Neuro-ophthalmology: Diagnosis and Management, 3rd edition. He serves on the editorial board of Neurology, the Journal of Neuro-ophthalmology and the Neurology Education Journal. In 2004, he received the Distinguished Teacher Award from the American Neurological Association and the AAO Robert Glaser Award from the American Association of Medical Colleges. He was named the Clinical Specialist of the Year at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in 1998 and the Master Clinician of the Year at the NYU Langone Medical Center in 2014. In 2018, he received the AB Baker from the AAN for lifetime achievement in neurological education. He was the former Director of Neurological Training at the University of Pennsylvania and the former Associate Dean of Admissions for the Perelman School of Medicine. He has been involved in the training of several generations of neurology residents and dozens of Neuro-Ophthalmology fellows at both Penn and NYU. He currently serves on the American Academy of Neurology- Education Committee.
