Olivia Kim-McManus, MD

Dr. Olivia Kim-McManus has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric neurogenetic conditions in infants and children with epileptic encephalopathy and neurodevelopmental disorders. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Neurosciences at UCSD, with board certifications in Neurology, Epilepsy, and Clinical Neurophysiology. She is also a physician-scientist at the Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine, with experience in the development, institutional implementation, and delivery of novel targeted genetic therapeutics for rare causal variants.
Dr. Kim-McManus is the Principal Investigator for a first-in-human, investigator-initiated clinical trial of an individualized allele-specific antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) for SCN2A, as well as other current and upcoming investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored genetic therapy studies. She serves on advisory boards, including the Epilepsy Foundation San Diego, and is a member of the N=1 Collaborative and the Child Neurology Society Research Committee.
