Neena Cherayil, MD

Dr. Neena Cherayil is an adult neuro-ophthalmologist whose clinical interests include ocular myasthenia gravis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), nystagmus, double vision, eyelid abnormalities, pupillary abnormalities, central vision loss, and optic neuropathy of any cause but especially inflammatory optic neuritis due to MS, MOGAD, NMO, or sarcoidosis. Her research interests include long-term care of ocular myasthenia, course and treatment of MOGAD-related optic neuritis, and she is actively involved in clinical trials in these areas. Her academic focus is in medical education, and she is particularly interested in effective teaching of clinical reasoning and neuroanatomical localization in neurology to residents and medical students. She is the associate clerkship director for the Phase 2 medical student neurology rotation as well as module leader for the Phase 1b neuroscience course.
