Yale School of Medicine
Diya Gandhi is a student at the Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore. Over the past two years, Diya have been involved with research in the fields of Neurology and Oncology. Diya mentors include Dr. Huanwen Chen from NIH and Dr. Ajay Malhotra at Yale School of Medicine.
Diya has worked with Dr. Chen on the studies of application of reperfusion therapies (intravenous and endovascular thrombolysis) in pediatric population as well as in patients with Down’s syndrome. We have performed these analyses using National Readmission Database that have allowed us to extract information on a large number of stroke patients in pediatric age group where systematic studies of IVT and EVT are currently lacking.
Diya have had along association with young children with Down’s syndrome as I serve as mentor for Baltimore Saints Special Hockey association and the PALS association. I am eager to contribute to betterment of health and early access to therapies for patients with Down’s syndrome. I am excited to participate in the American Association of Neurology meeting and share our work with the participants.
