Davut Pehlivan, MD (SIG Oral Presenter)

Dr. Davut Pehlivan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). He graduated from the University of Istanbul, where he also completed his residency training in genetics. After moving to the United States, he joined the laboratory of Dr. James Lupski at BCM, focusing on identifying the genetic causes of various neurological conditions. Dr. Pehlivan later completed a second residency in Child Neurology at BCM and now serves as a physician-scientist at the Texas Childrenās Hospital Rett Center. His primary research interests include discovering the underlying genetic causes of rare neurogenetic syndromes, as well as conducting clinical trials and translational research in these areas. Dr. Pehlivan has co-authored ~150 scientific articles and has received numerous awards from national and international organizations for his contributions to the field.
